Best places to Visit in India (by Regions & Itinerary) 2025

Hey there, fellow wanderlusters! Eric from Funky Fresh Travels here, and boy, do I have a treat for you today! After spending countless months exploring every nook and cranny of this incredible country, I’m finally ready to spill the tea on the absolute best places to visit in India. From the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas to the sun-kissed shores of the Arabian Sea, buckle up for the ultimate Indian adventure!

Let me tell you about my favorite circuit in North India – the Golden Triangle. This trio of cities (Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur) was my first introduction to India, and trust me, it’s the perfect place to start your Indian adventure!

Oh, Old Delhi, you beautiful chaos! Every time I wander through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, I discover something new. The majestic Red Fort stands as a testament to Mughal grandeur, while the towering Qutub Minar tells tales of ancient dynasties.

Pro tip: Head to Jama Masjid early morning – the largest mosque in India is not just a religious site but a photographer’s paradise! The contrast between Old Delhi and New Delhi is mind-blowing. While Old Delhi buzzes with street food vendors and centuries-old shops, New Delhi showcases wide boulevards and the stunning Lotus Temple. Don’t miss the chance to visit India Gate at sunset – it’s pure magic!

Listen up, folks – yes, the Taj Mahal is absolutely breathtaking (and trust me, no photo does justice to this UNESCO World Heritage Site), but Agra has so much more to offer! The Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan spent his final days gazing at his masterpiece, tells a love story that’ll give you goosebumps . And don’t get me started on Fatehpur Sikri – this abandoned city is like stepping into a time machine!

The capital city of Rajasthan is a feast for the senses! The moment you step into the old city, you’re surrounded by pink-hued buildings that gave Jaipur its famous nickname. The City Palace is my absolute favorite spot – I’ve spent hours exploring its courtyards and museums. And the Hawa Mahal? Those intricate carvings will blow your mind!

If you’re looking to escape the heat, the hill stations of Himachal Pradesh are your best bet . Shimla, the former summer capital of British India, with its colonial architecture and scenic beauty, is like a postcard come to life. And Manali? Well, let’s just say I’ve “accidentally” extended my stay there multiple times!

Let me tell you about the time I first cruised through Kerala’s backwaters on a traditional houseboat. Picture this: you’re lounging on deck, practicing your morning yoga while the sun rises over palm-fringed waters, and your personal chef is whipping up some mind-blowing Kerala breakfast . This isn’t just travel, folks – it’s pure bliss!

The backwaters of Kerala deserve a special mention. Picture this: you’re on a traditional houseboat, gliding through serene waters, surrounded by swaying palm trees, with the most amazing Kerala-style fish curry for dinner. Heaven? Pretty much! The Western Ghats here are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and trust me, the biodiversity will blow your mind .

Y’all, the first time I witnessed a Bharatanatyam dance performance in Tamil Nadu, I was literally speechless! The grace, the storytelling, the rhythm – it’s pure magic ! But here’s a secret spot most tourists miss: the Kolli Hills. Picture yourself trekking through misty mountains, discovering hidden waterfalls, and sipping the freshest tea you’ve ever tasted .

WHO AM I ?

Hello! I’m Eric, a French Australian citizen based between Australia, Asia and Bali and I love to travel and experience the world. I generally like outdoor activities, wellness, great food and venues , party and real local adventures ! I am a Yoga practitioner and fitness lover

I created this blog because I love to travel and I want to share my experiences with others. I’ve been traveling since I was a child, and I’ve been to over 50 countries. I’ve seen some amazing things and met some amazing people, and I want to help others experience the same things.

Eric blog 1 8

I believe that travel is one of the best ways to learn about the world and about yourself. When you travel, you’re forced to step outside of your comfort zone and experience new things. You learn about different cultures, different religions, and different ways of life. You also learn about yourself, your strengths, and your weaknesses.

Travel can also be a great way to make new friends. When you’re traveling, you’re surrounded by people from all over the world, and you’re all in the same boat. You’re all there to explore and experience new things, and that can create a bond between people.

Let’s connect together!

I hope that my travel blog will inspire others to travel and to see the world. I also hope that it will help people to learn about different cultures and to become more open-minded.
