I am living in Bali, and the best advice I could give you is : don’t rack your brain. There is indeed some distinct seasons ( see blow ) and a low season which is the cheapest time , but you will get sunny weather all year long.

During the quiet season, hotel prices might be lower if you compare to the peak tourist seasons but honestly the difference is not that high too. If I had to choose, for me the best time of the year is during the monsoon season ( wettest months ). There is less tourists and I love the rain on this tropical island !

No matter what you choose, enjoy your time on the beautiful Island of gods !

Understanding its seasons is vital for your trip. Let’s explore the rainy season and dry seasons, peak times, and the best months to visit, with a focus on average temperatures.

Bali has two main seasons. The rainy season runs from November to March, with frequent showers and lush landscapes. The dry season, from April to October, known as the high season, brings pleasant weather and clear skies, attracting many tourists.

The high season sees a surge in visitors, while the peak season aligns with holidays like Christmas and New Year, offering lively festivities. Be sure to book in advance and expect higher prices during this period.

The best times to visit are April, May, June, and September. These months strike a balance between manageable crowds and great weather, with an average temperature of around 30°C (86°F), perfect for outdoor activities.

The best time to visit Bali largely depends on your desired activities and tolerance for crowds, but generally, the dry season from April to October offers the most ideal conditions. During these driest months, you’ll experience ample good weather with lower humidity, perfect for exploring the stunning landscapes of rice paddies in Ubud or embarking on an adventure to Nusa Penida for its breathtaking cliffs and pristine beaches. This period is also prime for water activities like surfing on the west coast and especially for scuba diving due to clearer visibility.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in Balinese culture, the Bali Arts Festival typically runs from mid-June to mid-July, showcasing traditional dance and music, while the Bali Spirit Festival in May offers a focus on yoga, dance, and healing in Ubud. Conversely, the worst time to visit for outdoor pursuits is the wet season from November to March, characterized by higher humidity and more frequent rain, though it can offer a quieter and more affordable experience. Areas like Nusa Dua are popular year-round for their resorts and sheltered beaches, but truly shine during the dry season for uninterrupted sun and sea enjoyment.
