Puppy Yoga Bali
Hi guys
As you know, I am a Yoga teacher and I live in Bali and the article today might be a little bit controversial.
But if you red carefully my article below, you will understand my approach. Overall, among all the ones I tried, Happy puppy Yoga Bali was my favourite.

So today, we will chat about a tricky subject, as I know that many people, especially Yoga teachers, think that using animals is not something acceptable, especially for the sake of profit.
Some will tell us that those puppies are not treated correctly , transported and stressed for fun , and that they only choose breed puppy that looks cute, knowing that there is hundreds of stranded dogs in Bali
Other people will tell us that it is not real Yoga and those kind of new Yoga practice are killing the real authentic and tradition
I get it and I actually think the same.
But overall, no matter what you do, they will still exist as there are customers ready to pay for it.
So as a control and regulation, I felt that writing an article with great recommendations of ethical businesses was more important than just open my mouth and complain about it
My selection of businesses come from those parameters:
- Partnership with dog shelters with profit sharing for the dogs adoptions
- No breeding dogs just used for marketing and image
- Dog health check and vet clean
Be open and positive, because the experience is actually nice and fun

These are the spots that are not only a blast but also make a real, positive difference in the lives of these precious pups.
Let’s dive in and find your perfect blend of zen and zoomies!
1. Puppy Yoga Bali (Bali Canggu & Uluwatu)

I’m kicking off the list with a spot that’s practically synonymous with the puppy yoga movement here. “Puppy Yoga Bali” is a top-rated studio for a reason. They have a solid reputation for being ethical and truly dedicated to the well-being of the puppies. The best part? They have locations in two of Bali’s hottest spots: Canggu and Uluwatu.
Their model is a gold standard: all their puppies come from the Aseman Bali Dog Association, a local rescue shelter. This means every time you book a class, you’re not just getting some puppy cuddles; you’re directly supporting a no-kill shelter. They’ve helped find forever homes for dozens of puppies, and a portion of your ticket goes directly to the rescue. The sessions are short to ensure the puppies don’t get tired, and there’s always a team of staff on hand to make sure they’re happy and safe. The yoga class itself is a gentle flow, perfect for all levels. Whether you’re in Canggu Bali or heading down south to Canggu Uluwatu, you can find a class that’s convenient for you.
2. Happy Puppy Yoga (Canggu & Ubud)

Another big name in the ethical yoga Bali scene is Happy Puppy Yoga. They’ve got a fantastic vibe that’s all about joy and connection. You can find them in the lively hub of Canggu and also in the spiritual heartland of Ubud. Their yoga class is a lighthearted blend of stretching and playtime.
The instructors are super welcoming, and they’ve created an environment where everyone, from seasoned yogis to total newbies, feels comfortable. Their sessions are also designed to be a positive experience for the puppies, allowing them to roam free, socialize, and get used to human interaction—all of which are crucial for their development. The vibe is all about fun, and they often end the class with some free time for photos and pure, unadulterated puppy playtime. If you’re looking for a joyful, beginner-friendly activity Bali has to offer, this is a must-try.
3. Seminyak Puppy Yoga (Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach)

If you’re staying in the more upscale area of Seminyak, you don’t have to miss out on the fun! The Hotel Indigo Bali offers a unique puppy yoga class experience in partnership with the Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA). This is a really cool collaboration that brings this amazing activity Bali has to offer to a more luxurious setting, while still being committed to animal welfare.
I love that they’ve made it so accessible for travelers in Seminyak. The atmosphere is serene and calming, a perfect counterpoint to the vibrant energy of the town. The adorable puppies are all rescues from BAWA, an organization that’s been doing incredible work for years. The yoga session is held in a beautiful, clean space, and you can rest assured that your participation helps a reputable charity. Plus, a hotel setting means you can often treat yourself to a delicious post-yoga brunch or refreshing drinks. It’s the perfect way to combine a bit of luxury with a whole lot of heart.
What to Expect at a Puppy Yoga Session in Bali
A puppy yoga session in Bali is a heartwarming experience that blends a gentle yoga session with the boundless energy of playful puppies. It’s a unique activity designed for animal lovers and is an unforgettable experience—even if you’re a complete beginner to yoga.
Participants gather their yoga mats in a serene setting, often overlooking rice fields or lush gardens. The session usually begins with gentle Hatha yoga poses. However, as soon as the playful puppies are released, the dynamic changes! Instead of focusing solely on perfect alignment in poses like downward dog, the focus shifts to cuddles, laughter, and enjoying the dogs.
The puppies will romp across the mats, chew on straps, and occasionally nap right on your back, providing unexpected moments of pure happiness. It’s fantastic for stress relief. The happy puppy yoga session wraps up with 15-20 minutes dedicated entirely to playing with and cuddling the pups. This provides the perfect chance for some memorable Instagram photos and a truly happy moment before the end of the session.
So there you have it, my Funky Fresh guide to the best ethical puppy yoga spots in Bali. Eric
