When I went for the first time to Kathmandu in 2018 , I was always fascinated by the books and stories from the period 1965 to 1980 will all the hippies and the flower power movement going over there . The city of Kathmandu, capital of Nepal is old, dusty, and noisy, but with a beautiful charm . The center of Kathmandu and the ancient city is unique and stunning, especially if you like history . The hindu temples, royal palace, kopan monastery, the cultural festivities, numerous museums and the rich culture makes it a vibrant city.

The City centre and especially Thamel ( major attraction and touristic part ) , was one of the best places I have been to in this beautiful city . It is a hilly region and mountainous area so you can still get out and organise trekking with travel agencies and get out for a day trip or two .

Please note that with the high magnitude earthquake from 2015, many parts of the metropolitan city were destroyed, and especially the old city ( unesco-listed heritage site)
