Volcanoes & Mountains in Bali: My Best Hiking Trails

Mount Batur 1 volcanoes in bali

Hello everybody !

I am living in Indonesia and more precisely Bali, and I am a big fan of trekking . I did a few bases camp and some famous trekking in South America , Nepal, Europe etc … for me trekking is a kind of therapy . You can be in harmony with nature and focus on yourself.

There is amazing and world class trekking in Indonesia of course as this is one of the most popular activities ( Rinjani in Lombok, many Volcanoes in East Java and much more ). But don’t worry, Bali got a fair share of amazing walk, trail and trekking. Some challenging !

If you like sunrise hikes, you will have a blast .

Don’t forget that there is volcanoes, so sometimes there is some strict ban with police patrols, mainly for safety reasons . Some of those mountains are holy places, so you must be super respectful and not doing anything silly ( last year some tourists got naked on top of a mountain and got deported ) . So follow the local regulation please .

Don’t forget to check the best time of the year to visit as Bali can get rainy !

Best trekking in Bali

So first you have to know that the island of Bali is not flat. You have dense forest all over the island ( except the south ) and sacred mountains perfect for exploring for foreign tourists . The good thing is that you can go by yourself on some, and it is very easy to find local guides . Those professionals are very often skilled and friendly .

Let’s start with the peaks ! Best Bali mountains

The popular mount Batur ! Beautiful mountain in bali

The most famous definitively . You will get an amazing view on the island and on the lake batur and the cool thing is that most of the hikes start in the middle of the night ! As a result you can catch the sunrise early morning . How cool is that !

Batur is a Volcano and it can get really cold on top . You can do the walk in roughly 2-3 hours .

Despite the tourism activities , it is a must do .

WHO AM I ?

Hello !

I am Eric, a French Australian citizen based between Australia, Asia and Bali an I love to travel and experience the world. I generally like outdoor activities, wellness, great food and venues , party and real local adventures ! I am a Yoga practitioner and fitness lover

I created this  blog because I love to travel and I want to share my experiences with others. I’ve been traveling since I was a child, and I’ve been to over 50 countries. I’ve seen some amazing things and met some amazing people, and I want to help others experience the same things.

I believe that travel is one of the best ways to learn about the world and about yourself. When you travel, you’re forced to step outside of your comfort zone and experience new things. You learn about different cultures, different religions, and different ways of life. You also learn about yourself, your strengths, and your weaknesses.

Travel can also be a great way to make new friends. When you’re traveling, you’re surrounded by people from all over the world, and you’re all in the same boat. You’re all there to explore and experience new things, and that can create a bond between people.
