1. Monkey Cave Espresso

Picture3 Breakfast Places in Ubud

This tiny little place is straightforward but perfect. The greatest coffee in town, according to many, is served at Monkey Cave Espresso, so stop by for a strong and flavorful cup.

Just a short stroll from Monkey Forest, this establishment is the ideal spot for a morning, delicious cuisine – a modest food menu with a few breakfast and sandwich options – and monkey watching while unwinding in their outdoor seating area.

Located at Monkey Forest, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, the cafe remains open from 8 am to 6 pm.

2. Clear Cafe

Picture4 Breakfast Places in Ubud

I entered Clear Cafe to see a sophisticated, spacious setting that was undoubtedly beyond my backpacking means. I took a slight detour and returned through the ornately carved revolving door to look at the menu.

I was happy to see that the rates were not only fair but even lower than many of the restaurants I had already visited. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some opulent-looking sweets are all offered at Clear Cafe.

The fresh and locally obtained ingredients in their famous smoothies (strawberries from the fields of Bedugul, mangos from Singaraja, and seaweed purchased daily at 5 am off the docks of Kedonganan) should be noticed.

They provide a wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, and nut-free options and alternatives on their modern menu, which combines Western, Indonesian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Thai, and Indian food. As you eat, take in the sounds of the fountains and mellow jazz music while sitting near the koi pond.

3. Gangga Coffee

Picture1 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Fairtrade and sustainability were the guiding concepts behind the creation of Gangga Coffee. The calm and quiet Gangga Coffee, which is a little outside the main hubbub of Ubud, is the perfect place for people who wish to work on their laptops or grab their books.

The personnel here is knowledgeable about coffee and can fill you in on the many varieties and origins of beans.

4. Lazy Cats Cafe

Picture2 2 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Dreams of a pleasant cafe are made in this place. In addition to being the ideal location for indulging in some delectable food and beverages, Lazy Cats inspires you to take a step back and find serenity with its laid-back atmosphere, open terrace, and wall quotes and merchandise that all celebrate the beauty of lethargy.

Sit back on one of their contrasted couches and take in the quirky furnishings. The most relaxed and tranquil of vacationers are sure to frequent the perfectly photogenic Lazy Cats cafe.

5. Café du Monyet

Picture3 1 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Café du Monyet is the perfect place to go if you want a flavor of France. This small coffeehouse is so charming and elegant that it may temporarily take you to Europe. However, with its views of rice paddies, Café du Monyet still has a hint of Ubud.

Most of the food selections are Western (sandwiches, salads, and various mains; the Sleazy Cheesy burger is to die for), but there are also a few Indonesian foods available. Additionally, all of their fruits, veggies, meats, and poultry are produced by organic local farmers.

6. Watercress Cafe

Picture4 1 Breakfast Places in Ubud

If you plan to come here for supper, make a reservation in advance because this hip place is frequently busy. In order to be as sustainable as possible, Watercress prides itself on using ingredients that are frequently sourced locally.

They receive regular deliveries of fish from the Canggu coast, organic poultry from Java, and meat from Australia and New Zealand. Right on Monkey Forest Road, their restaurant has two levels, soaring ceilings, and an open-air design.

Brick walls and unusual light fittings add that hipster touches we all adore to the otherwise simple décor.

Every Friday and Saturday from 6 pm to 9 pm, stop by for the live music in the evenings while indulging in a delectable dinner and a unique cocktail.

7. Yellow Flower Cafe

Picture5 Breakfast Places in Ubud

This organic food cafe is conveniently located next to the Intuitive Flow yoga class. This open-air restaurant offers views of the famed Campuhan Ridge and a steady breeze to keep you cool as you eat.

Yellow Flower supports local organic producers and cooks with food grown in their gardens. Their primary objective is to provide healthy food, so they only cook with coconut oil and serve rice grown organically in Bali’s fertile volcanic soil without any artificial flavor enhancers.

They cook with aluminum cookware and only use locally grown town palm nectar, as large palm plantations are major contributors to the destruction of Indonesia’s rainforests.

8. Zest

Picture6 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Zest is the ultimate definition of serenity. All ingredients are sourced locally, including organic farmers, artisans, and even some of the personnel.

Every meal is prepared with care, from the way it’s cooked to the gorgeous and colorful presentation. Tucked away on a quiet road above Ubud’s jungles, Zest also provides fantastic views and a huge setup with plenty of warm couches to recline on and outside, sitting among lotus ponds, lush greenery, and trickling fountains.

The menu features a variety of unusual and inventive plant-based and vegan cuisine. Non-vegans, don’t be put off; you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything after eating the delicious food at Zest.

The Breakfast Conundrum: Why It’s the Most Challenging Meal of the Day

Picture8 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Breakfast, often hailed as the most important meal of the day, can sometimes be the most challenging one to navigate. Despite the plethora of great places and cafes offering delicious options, there are several factors that contribute to the breakfast conundrum. Let’s explore why breakfast can be considered the most impossible meal of the day.

1. Morning Rush and Limited Time

Picture9 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Breakfast is often overshadowed by the morning rush and time constraints. Many individuals find themselves in a hurry, leading them to skip the most important meal or settle for a quick coffee shop grab-and-go option. Limited time makes it challenging to sit down and enjoy a proper breakfast experience.

2. The Quest for Nutritious Choices

Picture10 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Finding a breakfast spot that offers a balance between good food and fresh, nutritious options can be a challenge. While there are great cafes and restaurants serving smoothie bowls or fresh fruits, it may take some effort to find a place that caters to specific dietary needs, such as gluten-free options or vegetarian food lovers.

3. Balancing Taste and Health

Picture11 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Breakfast is a battle between appeasing the taste buds and making healthy choices. While some restaurants offer indulgent dishes like eggs Benedict or French toast, others prioritize using natural ingredients and catering to the health-conscious crowd. Striking the right balance between flavor and nutrition can be a daunting task.

4. Time Constraints and Breakfast Menus

Picture12 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Many cafes and restaurants have limited breakfast menus, making it challenging to find diverse options. The opening hours of some establishments may not align with early risers, limiting the availability of a fresh meal. Additionally, hotel restaurants often cater to a specific clientele and can be on the expensive side.

5. Balancing Local and International Cuisine

Picture13 Breakfast Places in Ubud

In Bali, the breakfast scene is a fusion of local favorites and international influences. From traditional Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng to Melbourne-inspired cafes serving avocado toast, the variety can be overwhelming. Choosing between local food experiences and international brunch spots can add to the breakfast conundrum.

Conclusion

Picture14 Breakfast Places in Ubud

Breakfast presents unique challenges due to time constraints, the quest for nutritionally balanced options, and the struggle to strike a balance between taste and health. Despite the abundance of great places and cafes, navigating the breakfast conundrum requires careful consideration of personal preferences and dietary needs to find the perfect spot for a satisfying morning meal.

I created this  blog because I love to travel and I want to share my experiences with others. I’ve been traveling since I was a child, and I’ve been to over 50 countries. I’ve seen some amazing things and met some amazing people, and I want to help others experience the same things.

I believe that travel is one of the best ways to learn about the world and about yourself. When you travel, you’re forced to step outside of your comfort zone and experience new things. You learn about different cultures, different religions, and different ways of life. You also learn about yourself, your strengths, and your weaknesses.

Travel can also be a great way to make new friends. When you’re traveling, you’re surrounded by people from all over the world, and you’re all in the same boat. You’re all there to explore and experience new things, and that can create a bond between people.
